![]() During the day - even with all the noise they do not sufficiently cool down the space. Downsides are the following: - the AC system in the Caravans are super noisy. The Caravans have a great shaded deck area facing the cliffs. At least please work on the play list ! Given the lovely super quiet location - I would recommend the barefoot vibe. It needs to work out what it is trying to be. In practice though the resort played loud music in the evenings (with a dated playlist) trying to be cool and hip. Upon arrival we were initiated with a lovely welcome ritual espousing a back-to-nature focus and human connectivity. What let's the resort down is its identity. The resort has a common area under 2 large tented structures that double as the dining venue - serviced by 3 food trucks. The setting is absolutely amazing - nestled in an intimate sand valley enclosed by sculptural rock cliffs. And a sidekick resort in an adjacent valley called Caravans By Habitas (CbH) where we stayed. Habitas resort has two sections - the main resort which has the Tama Restaurant, the spa and pool. I believe it's our duty as world travelers to give them a chance and help them reach their potentials by sharing our adventures. The new generation of young Saudis are changing the political and socio/economic landscape of a country that for decades was closed to the world. If you decide to travel to a place that you thought you would never visit, you may surprise yourself and realize that not everyone is the way you were thought to believe they are. The Saudi people that I have encountered and talked to (both men and women), were very friendly and open to accept any new ideas and opinions that came their way. One last thought despite many misconception on the Saudi people, my experience dealing and talking to the local has been nothing but positive and an eye opener. Overall I highly recommend both the Caravans and the main Habitas resort to anyone that wants to adventure to something out of this world and do it in style. Thanks Charles for giving us the opportunity to explore with you and your incredible team. We discovered new paths and climbed rock that had never been walked on before, truly magical and unforgettable. ![]() He took my friend and I on an unscheduled hike in the surrounding rock formations (that's AlUla is famous for) and It was one of the most amazing hiking experiences of my life. Charles (the Habitas GM) is an incredible person that has taken it upon himself to make sure both the Caravan and the main resort are the best there is in terms of hospitality and amenities. The people that work there are amazing, very friendly and always ready to help should you need anything at all. One suggestion would be to have water mist sprayed around but given that you are in the middle of the desert it's understandable that it may not work. The central camp is equipped with very comfortable seating and giant fans that give you the feeling of having fresh air but unfortunately just move the really hot air around you. The customized Airstreams are to die for and amazingly appointed with everything you may need and more. With that said, Caravans by Habitas is an oasis in the middle of the desert. I just want to start this review by mentioning that summer is probably not the best season to visit AlUla, mainly because of the excessive heat (115 every day while we were there in mid June). Thanks Charles for giving us the opportunity. ![]() ![]()
